Artist Statement & Bio

As a child, a narrow set of expectations overwhelmed me, and I found solace in the leafy world away from my house. Memories of how it felt to escape into that frontier continue to define my work and focus on belonging and flourishing in a difficult space. Just as the saplings and undergrowth compete and reach for light, we are all scrounging for a chance to become something valuable.  As I explore color language, design and light, I aim to develop woodland imagery that induces a calm state of mind.
